4 star cottage - Lake District
Craghill Cottage was built around 60 years ago using locally sourced walling stone and roofing slates. The appearance of the cottage and its location on the banks of the river Brathay provide that picture post card setting that traditional Lakeland properties have to offer. The cottage over more recent years has been extended by adding a kitchen and a conservatory.
There are also outbuildings which provide sizeable storage for bikes and canoes and are a good place to dry your outdoor clothing after a wet day on the fells. Ample parking is also available.
Within the cottage a rear entrance porch provides space for coats and boots and houses the utility area. This then leads into the well equipped kitchen which has a double aspect providing views of the gardens and surrounding countryside. A large opening from the kitchen leads into the open plan lounge / dining room which is spacious, comfortable, warmed by a woodburning stove and open to the spectacular conservatory. The relaxing conservatory also provides access to the furnished patio and superb garden, which leads down to the river. An inner hallway leads to the two king-sized bedrooms, one which can be arranged as a twin.  Both are beautifully presented with fantastic views. A modern bathroom with shower over bath completes the single storey internal layout.
The cottage is surrounded by lawned gardens with established borders. Within the gardens there are a number of seating and dinning areas were guests can relax, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and watch the river flow by.
The cottage is situated in a prime Lake District holiday destination, perfect for outdoor activities. This romantic retreat or relaxing family setting is ideal for exploring the scenery around by adventuring out onto one of the many famous walks or cycle routes that start from the door. The local bar and restaurant is only a short stroll from the cottage.

Skelwith Bridge is a small hamlet situated on the outskirts of Ambleside and within the heart of the Langdale Valley it therefore offers all of the natural beauty associated with this area of the Lake District. Whilst away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps. The cottage is in easy reach of towns such as Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston with the lakes, cruises, shops, bars and restaurants that they have to offer.
The open plan lounge / dining room is spacious, comfortable, warmed by a wood burning stove and open to the spectacular conservatory. The conservatory has under floor heating and is beautifully and comfortably furnished.
A large opening leads from the lounge to the well equipped kitchen, where you'll find countryside views for the cook. An inner hallway leads to the two king-sized bedrooms, both stylish and modern with matching furnishings, one which can be arranged as a twin if required.
The bedrooms are beautifully presented with fantastic views. A modern bathroom with shower over the bath enhances the homely comfort offered by the cottage.
The cottage has lawned gardens with natural flower and shrub boarders to all sides with a large side garden which leads down to the river. An outdoor furnished patio and a number of seating areas provide relaxing locations around the grounds to enjoy the surrounding beauty or for that relaxing and peaceful moment.

Beyond the gardens walks up the river side will take you into Elterwater, Chapel Stile and deeper into the majestic mountain scenery of the Langdale Valley. Alternatively you can walk to some of the local beauty spots such as Tarn Hows, Loughrigg Tarn, Skelwith or Colwith Force. With prime mountains and fells such as the Langdales and Loughrigg close by you can be sure of finding that relaxing stroll or the more energetic climb right from the door.
